The Best New Cars for the Money
Everyone wants something that returns more value than what is actually paid or perceived. It’s kind of in our nature to save money where we can. No matter how wealthy, nobody’s going to pass up a fantastic deal if they see one. Especially with today’s economy and the cost of everything going up so much, it’s always good to know that there are still great deals that can be had if one looks hard enough. Cars are expensive, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a great bargain on a new car. We’re here to help!
These are our picks for five of the best new cars you can buy that just happen to be a great value:
Chevrolet Corvette:
The Corvette has evolved into a true American supercar. It has the looks that grab attention from bystanders, and it sounds like a few raging lions right before they get fed at the zoo. It is the most expensive car on this list, but for that price you get up to 650 horsepower in the top-of-the-line Z06 trim.
Is $100,000 worth it? To most, no. Consider this though! A Ferrari 488 GTB gives you 660 horsepower starting at $252,000. An Aston Martin DB11 produces around 600 horsepower at around $200,000. Even an Audi R8 makes about 600 horsepower at around $150,000. The ‘Vette doesn’t sound too bad anymore does it? Say that it’s unrefined and cheap if you wish, but maybe you should drive one before you dismiss the possibility of all that American performance.
Ford Raptor:
What happens when Ford takes a pickup truck, makes it off-road ready from the factory, and gives it engine upgrades to make it go fast too? You get a Ford Raptor, of course. There are a myriad of people that spend thousands of dollars upgrading their trucks and SUVs to make them off-road capable. The Raptor costs about $50,000 and is completely ready to take on any mud pit, boulder, or hill climb you can throw at it. Not only that, but it has four doors, it’s 100% road legal, and if you aren’t happy with all the bells and whistles it already has, feel free to upgrade it even more! All this means that you really get two trucks for the price of one.
Genesis G70, G80, and G90:
Genesis is the new kid on the block. Being touted as Hyundai’s more refined cousin, the Genesis brand targets competitors like BMW, Mercedes, and Audi, a difficult task to be sure. The entire lineup is going to be flung into the direct line of staunch criticism because of the badge. But that’s really the only hurdle you have to overcome.
Look past the fact that brand is young and un-established and you will see your comparatively less expensive Genesis model shine in the value department. The interiors are certainly up to the task of making you feel like you’re in a car that’s thousands more than what you paid. Available features tell the same story, so you won’t be disappointed. Performance and style aren’t lacking either. All in all, any Genesis model you buy will be a steal, especially down the road. If something ever goes wrong, the repair costs will also be less than your neighbor’s BMW 5 series.
Nissan Frontier:
Why is the Nissan Frontier here? It’s not the most attractive truck, it’s not the fastest, and it’s certainly no champion in the features department. What it does the best is be exactly what it says it is: a pickup truck. If your needs include a work truck that can get the job done, but you can’t spend an arm and a leg to get one, the Frontier has your back. You can get it with four doors, a reliable and proven engine, and if you really want, you can get the rugged Pro 4X trim, making the truck more off-road capable with some fun features. For value, the Frontier is the best pickup you can get that everybody forgets is still available.
Kia Soul:
The Honda Fit is always on the list of the best value-for-money cars you can get. The Fit does check that box pretty well, but the Kia Soul is right there with it. With a comparable starting price, comparable storage space, and more eclectic styling, the Kia Soul just can’t be ignored as a viable alternative to the Fit. Designed to be the “lifestyle” car of choice for those adventurous-minded individuals, the Soul delivers strongly in the value department. The base model starts at a hair above $16,000, but even the top trim level offers great value, which starts at about $23,000. Not bad for a fun affordable daily driver that will turn heads and not break the bank.
There are so many different makes and models to choose from in the world of automobiles. All offer something that everyone can use based on each individual’s needs and wants. Few vehicles can say that they offer just about everything that someone would need at a reasonable price. The five vehicles above do that very thing better than anybody else.
